Aalto vase for Iittala

 50,00

The classic of the classics from Scandinavia.

Designed by Alvar Aalto in 1936 and introduced at the Paris World’s Fair the following year, its fluid, organic silhouette broke away from the rigid geometric forms that dominated the era.

Produced by Iittala and mouth-blown in Finland, the vase’s free-flowing shape is said to be inspired by the Finnish landscape, although its exact origin remains open to interpretation. Nearly ninety years after its introduction, the Aalto vase remains a timeless icon of Nordic design—equally beautiful as a sculptural object or filled with seasonal flowers.
