Lore Goethals created bashō from a love of vintage and a refined eye for design.
In Japanese, bashō means “place” — a space where form, material, and quiet beauty meet.
Each handmade object is shaped with care, pursuing perfection in simplicity. Each vintage find is chosen to inhabit a timeless place in your home.

about Lore

I’ve always been an avid learner and a maker at heart. After graduating with a Master of Arts in Ancient History in 2015 —not really my cup of tea, I began my career as a freelance web developer and later co-founded a design-focused development agency in 2020. While I love the digital world, I’ve always felt the pull toward creating with my hands.
From 2018 to 2023, I studied welding at CVO Kisp, and in 2022 I discovered ceramics —a craft that quickly captured my imagination. Since then, I’ve been developing my skills at various studios and now at the Academy of Arts in Ghent.
This webshop brings together my passion for learning, making, and sharing. Each piece is made with care, combining craftsmanship with curiosity, and reflects my journey of experimenting, exploring, and creating.
